Sad but Good

Well, the time came for us to winterize our summer retreat -- our camping house, as Sierra puts it. We enjoyed the past four days, sitting in the sun while reading, riding our four-wheelers to get them washed and ready for the winter, and pulling a few of the weeds that are desperately taking over the yard.

The best part of the time we spent there -- peace and more peace.
*Even the dogs bark differently there.
*Church is different -- everyone seems to accept everyone with no competition amongst us.
*Time goes slower. There's time to sit and watch movies that Mike and I haven't watched for a long time.
*Even knitting was fun. I finished a beautiful torquoise blue headband with a pattern that I pulled from Ravelry on my IPAD. Gone are the days that I have to have a paper pattern in front of me.
*I purposefully left behind my paper crafting. Absence did make the heart grow fonder. I missed touching, inking, stamping, creating. But guess what? It was still here upon my return.
*I missed the baby puppies. I held each one, saw how much they had grown since I saw them last, and I softened their first puppy food for them. Wow! It was fun to see them try something new.
*I missed Chloe. Mike told me that she probably wouldn't even remember me, but he was only kidding. She is sleeping by me on the bed while I'm writing this. She looks like she's enjoying the (short) break she's having from those growing puppies.

Things to look forward to this week:
*Taking some pictures of the fall leaves in our yard.
*Watching Izzy, Sierra and Autie carve pumpkins.
      *Doing laundry.
      *Inking.
*Finalizing my school improvement plan and submitting it to the District.
*Doing my homework for my Math and Science Principals' Academy (which meets Wednesday and Thursday).
      *Sleeping in a King-sized bed.
*Being a week closer to getting my new Iphone4S (cannot hardly wait).
*Starting a baby had for Jane (my cousin Whitney's soon-coming little one).
